NATO about war frontline: 'Ukrainians have a clear plan'
While repelling the large-scale military aggression of the Russian Federation and carrying out counteroffensive operations, Ukrainian forces have a "clear plan" that they are implementing on the front, as an anonymous high-ranking NATO official says at a briefing in Brussels to RBC-Ukraine correspondent.
The NATO representative highly praised the actions of the Ukrainian defenders, even in the face of a certain shortage of necessary weaponry provided by partner countries.
"The Ukrainians have a plan, and they are implementing it. But it is really, really difficult - to fight against the Russians even with the support that the West provides to Ukraine," he said.
According to the NATO official, "what the Ukrainians are doing is incredible." He mentioned the example of the Ukrainian Armed Forces liberating about half of the territory of Ukraine that was occupied by aggressors since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, as well as the operations in the Black Sea.
"The Ukrainians have a real clear plan on how to achieve success," noted the Alliance representative.
The counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
It began in early June. In the main southern direction, Ukrainian forces have liberated 260 square kilometers of territory.
Earlier, the Chief of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, stated that the first defensive line on the southern front had already been breached in some places. It means that the operation to break the land corridor between Russia and the occupied Crimea could be completed before the winter frost.
In September, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States, General Mark Milley, stated that since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, Ukraine had already liberated more than half of the territories occupied by the Russians.
Military operations in the Black Sea
Ukrainian military recently conducted several successful operations to destroy Russian ships in the Black Sea. On November 4, they struck the shipbuilding plant Zatoka in Crimea. As a result of the attack, the Kalibr carrier corvette Ascold was damaged.
On November 10, the intelligence officers carried out a successful special operation in Crimea. Two small landing ships were hit in the town of Chornomorske. Later, the intelligence confirmed that the operation was conducted using surface drones. One older project 1176 ship Akula and another newer one - project 11770 Serna sank.
The spokesperson for the Navy, Dmytro Pletenchuk, recently stated that the Defense Forces had destroyed 15 Russian Black Sea Fleet ships and damaged 12.
