Israel and Ukraine are today two countries with the most extensive combat experience. Israel has much to learn from Ukraine, and Ukraine still has much to learn from Israel, stated Israel’s ambassador to Ukraine, Michael Brodsky, in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
According to him, over four years of war, Ukraine has made significant progress in developing military technologies. It has found creative and relatively low-cost solutions that will remain in demand worldwide for a long time.
Brodsky noted that, in a sense, Ukraine is following Israel’s path.
"Israel has created its own value, primarily thanks to the technologies we have managed to develop. And, probably, first and foremost, because of the military situation, as these technologies were developed within the army and for military purposes. Ukraine is following exactly the same path," he said.
Answering a question about whether the Israeli army has anything to learn from Ukraine, the diplomat replied in the affirmative.
"I believe that Israel has much to learn from Ukraine, and Ukraine still has much to learn from Israel. Today, Israel and Ukraine are the two countries with the most combat experience. Experience in waging different types of war — both conventional, which is more relevant to Ukraine, and hybrid warfare, as well as the use of technology on the battlefield," he said.
According to him, both countries have vast but different and complementary experiences, creating significant potential for cooperation.
Brodsky also confirmed that communication between the countries regarding the exchange of practical experience is already underway, but declined to disclose details.
In the same interview, Michael Brodsky spoke about what Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are expected to discuss in the near future.
The diplomat also addressed whether Ukraine can count on new military assistance from Israel.
In addition, he outlined Israel’s main objectives in its war against Iran and did not rule out the possibility of a ground operation, noting that Israeli forces are capable of operating behind enemy lines.
The full interview about the war, which directly affects Ukraine as well, is available in RBC-Ukraine’s report.
