In the event of a ground operation by US forces against Iran, Israeli participation cannot be ruled out, as Israeli forces are capable of operating behind enemy lines, says Michael Brodsky, Israel’s Ambassador to Ukraine, in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
Responding to a question about the likelihood of a ground operation, the diplomat noted: "I wouldn’t rule anything out."
When asked to clarify Israel’s possible participation, Brodsky emphasized that the country cannot claim large-scale participation due to its size, but theoretically, such a scenario is possible.
"It depends on what you mean by participation. Israel is a small country; naturally, we can’t claim to play a major role, but theoretically… Israelis know how to operate behind enemy lines. So, theoretically, I wouldn’t rule it out," he notes.
In the same interview, Michael Brodsky states that Israel is ready to act independently in a war against Iran if US President Donald Trump decides to strike a deal with Tehran.
According to him, Israel will conclude the operation once its objectives have been achieved.
The diplomat notes that Israel’s goals generally coincide with those of the United States, although they may be more limited.
He also names 2 key objectives of the war: the destruction of Iran’s nuclear program and its missile capabilities for decades to come.
