Talk between the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may take place soon. Situation in the Middle East will likely be the main issue, Israel's ambassador to Ukraine, Michael Brodsky, said in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.

Israel's prime minister has long wanted to speak with the president of Ukraine. Brodsky explained why the conversation has not yet taken place and what issues the sides plan to discuss.

"As far as I know, the conversation has not yet taken place for technical reasons. I hope it will take place in the coming days. The exact topic is unknown to me. The request for the conversation came from the Israeli side. I think the main issue is the discussion of the situation in the Middle East, Iran," he said.

The Israeli ambassador also suggested that the Israeli prime minister will not miss the opportunity to thank Ukraine for recognizing the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization.

"Many countries did this after that, but we appreciate this decision of Ukraine, and it is precedent-setting," he emphasized.

Ukraine and the Middle East conflict

Recently, Ukraine has been actively sharing its experience in countering Iranian technologies on the international stage. In particular, Ukrainian specialists in shooting down Shaheds went to the Middle East to help partners set up defense systems.

In addition, Ukraine has already sent its own drones and experts to strengthen security in the region, which is constantly under threat of attacks by pro-Iranian groups.

Such cooperation is becoming increasingly relevant, as even major market players such as Saudi oil giant Aramco are rushing to strengthen their protection against air threats.

Against this background, on March 14, the head of the national security commission of Iran's parliament, Ebrahim Azizi, stated that Ukraine is allegedly a "legitimate and lawful target" for Iran due to assistance to Israel with interceptor drones.
