Kyiv death toll climbs after devastating Russian strike

The death toll in Kyiv has risen following a massive nighttime Russian strike. One of the victims has died in the hospital, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko and the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
"One of the victims, who was in critical condition, died in the hospital. There are five casualties in the capital as a result of Russia's massive attack," he says.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the number of casualties from the massive Russian strike has risen to 34 people, including 2 children.
Russian strike on Kyiv
The Kyiv Pechersk Lavra was hit overnight, and a fire broke out in the Assumption Cathedral there. Damage was reported in ten districts of Kyiv, and there are fatalities.
Russia also attacked the Kyiv region. Residential buildings were damaged in 5 districts; a child is among the victims.
Additionally, during the nighttime Russian attack, Russian troops destroyed Ukraine’s largest costume collection. Approximately 100,000 costumes and three million pieces of clothing were lost at the Dovzhenko Film Studio.
The number of casualties from the Russian attack on Kyiv has risen to 30. According to the Kyiv City Military Administration, 2 children aged 5 and 6 are among the injured.
Last night, the Russians attacked Ukraine with 6 3M22 Zircon anti-ship missiles, 34 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles, 30 Kh-101/Iskander-K cruise missiles, as well as 611 strike and decoy drones of various types, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, Banderol, and Parodiya.
In total, Russia deployed over 680 air attack assets, of which Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed or neutralized 632 targets.
