Russia strikes Dovzhenko Film Studio in Kyiv, destroying Ukraine’s largest costume archive

Russia attacked the Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Film Studio in Kyiv, one of Ukraine's oldest film studios. The country's largest and oldest costume collection was destroyed, according to a Facebook post by Ukrainian Minister of Culture Tetiana Berezhna.
“Another extremely grave crime by the Russians against Ukrainian culture. Russia attacked the Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Film Studio in Kyiv, one of Ukraine’s oldest film studios. A fire broke out,” the minister wrote.
According to her, the attack damaged the costume department and destroyed Ukraine’s largest and oldest costume collection.
“There were around 100,000 costumes and three million items of various clothing stored at the studio. Other studio buildings and facilities were also damaged,” Berezhna added.
Emergency responders and rescue services are currently working at the site. Efforts to eliminate the consequences of the attack and ensure safety are ongoing.
Berezhna also attached photos from the scene of the incident to her post about the shelling of the film studio.
