President Zelenskyy reported that all members of the Ukrainian negotiation team are already returning to the country, and a special meeting is scheduled in Kyiv for tomorrow to determine the next steps and decisions in the negotiation process.
"There will be a briefing here in Kyiv on aspects of the talks that shouldn’t be discussed over the phone. We will also define the framework for further discussions with our partners on the American side, with Europeans, and with the Russian side," he said.
The president emphasized the importance of European participation in the talks in Switzerland, underlining that Ukraine continues to count on Europe’s positions being taken into account.
Separately, Zelenskyy praised the work of the Ukrainian delegation, noting that clear coordination and a unified national stance are key conditions for effective negotiations.
"It is very important for Ukraine to speak confidently, strongly, and in a coordinated manner. Ukrainian unity always delivers the best results," the president concluded.
Geneva talks: What is known
The latest round of negotiations between Ukraine, Russia, and the US took place on February 17–18 in Geneva. According to Zelenskyy, the delegations of Ukraine, Russia, and the US made significant progress on the military track, but discussions on political issues were difficult.
Zelenskyy also noted that, in reality, if Russia had not tried to delay the process, Ukraine’s talks with the aggressor country in Geneva could have already reached the final stage. According to media reports, Russia plans to use these delays for its own purposes.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Kyiv and Moscow have already agreed on a new round of talks, which was later confirmed by the head of the Russian delegation, Vladimir Medinsky. Zelenskyy himself told British journalist Piers Morgan that the fourth round of negotiations will again take place in Switzerland.
