Lifting sanctions against Russia aligns with US interests, and Washington will ultimately remove them because the restrictions are unfavorable for American business.
This was stated by Kremlin envoy Kirill Dmitriev, according to his post on X.

Dmitriev stressed that lifting anti-Russian sanctions would serve US interests, arguing that highly profitable joint projects could replace billions in losses.
"The US will eventually lift sanctions because sanctions on Russia cost US businesses $300+ billion. Lifting sanctions on Russia is in the US interest,” he wrote.
The Kremlin envoy also said the portfolio of potential US-Russia projects exceeds $14 trillion.
Sanctions against Russia
Since the start of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, the US has imposed multiple rounds of sanctions targeting businesses, state projects, and political figures.
Under previous US presidents, Joe Biden and Barack Obama, financial restrictions on Russia were introduced regularly and systematically. Under Donald Trump, the sanctions policy toward Russia was seen as more cautious. The White House currently says new sanctions are prepared but not yet expected to be activated.
Meanwhile, leaders of the European Union plan to adopt a new, 20th sanctions package against Russia, largely focused on countering the country’s so-called shadow fleet, illicit oil tankers operating outside Western restrictions and a major source of revenue for the Russian budget.
These revenues, in turn, are used to finance the Kremlin’s war machine.
