The launch of a controlled export program for Ukrainian weapons is due to begin next month. The Minister of Defense will be responsible for meeting production and delivery targets for drones, stated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"The Minister of Defense of Ukraine must ensure full completion of production and delivery tasks by the end of the year — FPV drones, interceptor drones, and deep‑strike drones," he emphasized.
The Ukrainian leader said that the controlled export programme must be launched next month.
"By the end of the year, we must reach a level where 50+ percent of the weapons defending our state are of Ukrainian production," Zelenskyy said.
Weapons production in Ukraine
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine is preparing agreements on controlled arms exports. He noted that exporting some types of weapons that are in surplus could provide Ukraine with additional funds to produce scarce systems.
Zelenskyy said the Armed Forces have already used the new Flamingo and Ruta missiles in combat. He also announced new strikes on enemy targets in the near future.
He added that Ukraine has successfully used Neptune missiles and plans to regularly employ its own ballistic missiles in the future.
RBC-Ukraine also reported that a Ukrainian delegation recently visited the United States to discuss planned purchases of Ukrainian drones and security cooperation.
Meanwhile, Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal has promised to provide 1,000 interceptor drones per day in the near future to protect Ukraine from risks posed by Russia.
