Ukraine has successfully used Neptune missiles and plans to regularly use its own ballistic missiles in the future, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

“We have successfully used Neptunes, our cruise missiles, more than once. There will come a time when we will be able to start using our own ballistic missiles regularly,” the president said.

According to him, the development of ballistics is one of the key tasks of state security.

“This is one of the key security tasks for the state and all enterprises and people responsible for Ukraine's missile program. Effective ballistics are one of the guarantees of security,” he added.

Zelenskyy also drew attention to the potential of Ukrainian defense production and the support of partners.

“All of Ukraine's partners in the world know that the potential of our weapons production is much greater than is currently being financed, thanks to our internal resources and bilateral agreements with our partners,” the president said.

Neptune missiles

Back in 2023, it was reported that Ukraine was developing long-range Neptune missiles. On October 1, 2024, Zelenskyy announced at the opening of the second International Forum of Defense Industries that Ukraine had created a new ballistic missile.

In March of this year, he announced that the Long Neptune missile had been tested and successfully used in combat.

The Long Neptune RK360L missile was first shown on Independence Day in a video on the official account of the state portal Zbroia (Weapons).

On the night of September 29, Ukrainian Neptune missiles struck the Karachev Elektrodetal plant in the Bryansk region. It manufactures products for the Russian defense industry.
