Zelenskyy and European leaders to hold conversation with Trump: Bloomberg learns date

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European leaders will hold a phone conversation with US President Donald Trump on August 13 — two days before he meets with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Bloomberg reports.
According to German government spokesman Stefan Kornelius, US Vice President J.D. Vance will also join the phone call scheduled for 3:00 p.m. in Berlin.
Among the European leaders participating in the conversation will be German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, French President Emmanuel Macron, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and the prime ministers of Italy, Poland, and Finland.
According to Kornelius, the talks will cover "further options for exerting pressure on Russia," as well as "the preparation of possible peace negotiations and related issues of territorial claims and security."
Trump and Putin meeting
US President Donald Trump announced the date and location of the talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin — August 15 in Alaska. According to NBC, the White House is considering inviting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Trump also mentioned the possibility of a "territory swap" between Ukraine and Russia, including the return of some lands.
In response, Zelenskyy reminded that the territorial issue is enshrined in the Constitution, and Ukraine will not give up its lands to the occupiers. The Ukrainian president also emphasized that Russia is promoting the idea of such an "swap" without any guarantees.
