Zelenskyy sees no shift in Russia's stance as it pushes land swap with no guarantees

Ukraine sees no change in the Russian position. Moscow is pushing the idea of exchanging Ukrainian territories without any guarantees, according to the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The head of state made the statement after a conversation with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen.
He emphasized that diplomacy is extremely active these days. But there has been no change in the Russian position.
"The Russians still refuse to stop the killings, still invest in the war, and still push the idea of “exchanging” Ukrainian territory for Ukrainian territory, with consequences that guarantee nothing except more favorable positions for Russia to resume the war," he said.
Zelenskyy emphasized that all steps should bring the war closer to ending, not reconfiguring it, and that joint decisions with partners should work for common security.
"We also discussed with Mette our work toward EU membership, and the progress on this path for both Ukraine and Moldova. We share the same view on the need for a fair approach and the fulfillment of commitments for Ukraine and Moldova together," the president added.
Trump admits exchange of territories
US President Donald Trump announced earlier the possibility of a swap of territories between Ukraine and Russia, as well as the return of some Ukrainian lands.
"There'll be some swapping of territories to the betterment of both," Trump said.
He also announced the date and place of his meeting with Vladimir Putin, which is August 15 in Alaska.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy rejected the possibility of territorial concessions. He reminded that the territorial issue is enshrined in the Constitution, and Ukraine will not give up its territories to the Russians.
