Trump: Ukraine and Russia agree to halt strikes on energy infrastructure

Ukraine and Russia have agreed not to strike energy facilities, according to US President Donald Trump.
"Ukraine has agreed not to hit Russian energy targets. Russia has agreed to do likewise!" he said.
Trump also added that the rise in global diesel prices is mainly driven by the war between Ukraine and Russia, rather than Iran.
On September 13, Donald Trump said that Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries were allegedly contributing to rising fuel prices. In connection with this, he urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to stop such attacks.
Trump had previously also urged Kyiv to refrain from striking Russian infrastructure, claiming that such attacks could lead to a global diesel shortage. In his view, Ukraine should change its tactics.
Today, Russian leader Vladimir Putin’s spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said the Kremlin had reacted positively to Trump’s call to halt Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries.
RBC-Ukraine reported that Russian oil refineries experienced the largest wave of attacks since the start of the war in August. Against the backdrop of systematic strikes on critical infrastructure, analysts predict a prolonged decline in Russian oil refining volumes.
In particular, the International Energy Agency has cut its forecast for Russian oil refining over the next 18 months to 4 million barrels per day. This is about 30% below the levels recorded before Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
