US announces new sanctions against Iran due to transfer of ballistic missiles to Russia
The new sanctions list includes ten individuals and six entities from Iran and Russia, as well as four ships that Tehran used to supply weapons, including drones and missiles, to Russia.
Additionally, the US has imposed further sanctions on Iran Air to limit its operations abroad.
US Secretary of State and UK Foreign Secretary to visit Ukraine
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy have announced a joint visit to Ukraine, demonstrating solidarity with Kyiv amid Russia's invasion.
"I can confirm that Tony and I will be traveling to Kyiv this week - the first joint visit of this kind for well over a decade. We are the closest of allies, so I'm delighted that we will travel together, demonstrating our commitment to Ukraine," Lammy said.
US confirms transfer of Iranian missiles to Russia
Russia has received ballistic missiles from Iran. It is likely to use them against Ukraine over the next few weeks, according to the United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
"We have warned Tehran publicly, we have warned Tehran privately, that this step would be a dangerous escalation. Russia has already received batches of these missiles," Blinken said.
UK imposes sanctions against Russian Aerospace Forces
The United Kingdom imposed new sanctions against Russia. The list includes the Aerospace Forces of the aggressor country.
In addition to the Aerospace Forces, sanctions were also imposed against the 924th State Center for Unmanned Aviation of Russia and the Russian Military Transport Aviation Command.
The 924th State Center for Unmanned Aviation of Russia is responsible for supplying drones to the Russian military, including those used for strikes on Ukraine.
The UK also introduced restrictions against five Russian ships, including the Musa Jalil and the Begey.
Russian general's name who commanded strike on Okhmatdyt revealed
The Security Service of Ukraine and the General Prosecutor's Office served a notice of suspicion in absentia to the Russian general who commanded the missile attack on the medical building of the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital in Kyiv. He turned out to be a Lieutenant General who at the time held the position of commander of the long-range aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces, according to Andrii Kostin, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
Sources tell RBC-Ukraine that the general's name was Sergey Kobylash. Later, after the strike, he was promoted and appointed commander of the Russian Air Force.
