Russia strikes Kyiv with drones overnight: Air defense's work reported
All of the attack drones that Russian forces launched at Kyiv last night were destroyed by Ukrainian Air Defense Forces. There was no damage or casualties in Kyiv, according to the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Serhii Popko.
The official notes that Russia has not reduced the intensity of air attacks on Ukraine and Kyiv in particular since the beginning of September. Thus, last night there was a threat to the capital because of the Russian Shaheds.
"The air alert in Kyiv was announced at around 4 a.m. and lasted for almost 2 hours. All this time, Russian drones were flying towards the capital from different directions and in different groups," informs the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.
At the same time, he notes that thanks to the work of Ukrainian air defense, all Russian drones were destroyed.
"Preliminary, there is no destruction or casualties in the city. We are grateful to our soldiers who are protecting the peaceful city from such serious threats!" says Popko.
Russian drone attack
On the eve of September 10, the Russian Armed Forces launched Shahed attack drones towards Ukraine. An air alert was declared in many regions.
Explosions were heard in Cherkasy region due to the Russian kamikaze drone attack.
Kyiv was also on air alert, and air defense systems were deployed on its outskirts and in the region.
