US Secretary of State and UK Foreign Secretary to visit Ukraine
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy have announced a joint visit to Ukraine, demonstrating solidarity with Kyiv amid Russia's invasion, according to Inkl.
"I can confirm that Tony and I will be traveling to Kyiv this week - the first joint visit of this kind for well over a decade. We are the closest of allies, so I'm delighted that we will travel together, demonstrating our commitment to Ukraine," Lammy said.
Blinken, in turn, emphasized the importance of the visit to Ukraine at a critical moment.
"I think it's a critical moment for Ukraine in the midst of what is an intense fall fighting season, with Russia continuing to escalate its aggression," he said.
The US Secretary of State added that Russia is intensifying its attacks on cities, people, and particularly on energy infrastructure and electricity "all in advance of the coldest months."
As reported, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will meet in London with Prime Minister Keir Starmer and other senior British officials to discuss measures to support Ukraine in the war against Russia and responses to the Middle East conflict.
