Yesterday, the Russian army lost 940 soldiers on the front lines, as well as various military equipment, including tanks and air defense systems, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to August 9, 2025, are estimated to be:

  • personnel - about 1,062,290 (+940) Russian troops were eliminated;
  • tanks - 11,088 (+5);
  • troop-carrying AFVs - 23,103 (+1);
  • artillery systems - 31,273 (+41);
  • MLRS - 1,456;
  • anti-aircraft systems - 1,204 (+1);
  • aircraft - 421;
  • helicopters - 340;
  • UAV operational-tactical level - 50,315 (+147);
  • cruise missiles - 3,555;
  • warships/boats - 28;
  • submarines - 1;
  • vehicles and fuel tanks - 57,856 (+125);
  • special equipment - 3,936

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russian losses since the start of the full-scale war have reached 1,061,350 personnel. Over the past day, Ukrainian defenders eliminated 1,040 Russians.

The situation in Pokrovsk remains difficult. According to local authorities, it is almost impossible to enter the city or deliver humanitarian and medical aid.
