Russia's losses in Ukraine as of August 8: +1,040 troops and 52 artillery systems

Over the past day, the Russian army lost 1,040 soldiers on the front lines. It also lost various military equipment, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to August 8, 2025, are estimated to be:

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russia's losses since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine have already reached 1,060,310 people. Over the past day, Ukrainian defenders have eliminated 1,040 Russian troops.
The situation in Pokrovsk remains difficult. According to local authorities, it is almost impossible to enter the city or deliver humanitarian and medical aid.
