In particular, Axios, CNN, and Bloomberg, citing their own sources, reported that the ceremony could take place before or during the G7 summit.
Geneva, Switzerland, is reportedly being considered as the potential venue for the signing.
This year's G7 leaders' summit will be held in Évian, in the French Alps, from June 15 to 17. Geneva is located nearby and, according to people familiar with the plans, is being considered as a possible location for the signing of a memorandum between Iran and the US as early as Sunday.
Sources said that delegations from the world's largest economies will arrive via Geneva Airport before traveling on to the leaders' meeting in Évian-les-Bains, which is situated close to the Swiss border.
Bloomberg reported that one G7 official said the document would likely take the form of a memorandum of understanding rather than a final agreement.
The official cautioned that Iran has yet to confirm its willingness to participate in a signing ceremony, and that communications between Tehran and Washington have been slow since the outbreak of the war in February.
US-Iran agreement
US President Donald Trump said that the United States had allegedly brought the war with Iran to an end. According to him, Tehran agreed never to possess nuclear weapons.
Earlier, the US leader said that this had been achieved through a "great settlement."
He also noted that the relevant document could be signed within the next few days.
According to Trump, the signing ceremony may take place in Europe. He added that US Vice President JD Vance could also take part in it.
Axios reports that the US and Iran have agreed on the text of a preliminary agreement. It reportedly includes an extension of the ceasefire for 60 days and the easing of sanctions against Tehran.
