Ukraine and Germany have agreed to jointly develop systems for intercepting ballistic missiles. The agreement was signed during the Ramstein meeting by Ukraine’s Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov and German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.

The document provides for joint work between Ukrainian and German companies on the design and production of modern missile interceptors to counter ballistic threats.

In addition, the two sides agreed on the joint production of Ukrainian unmanned ground vehicles Termit on the territory of Germany.

The production will be financed by the German side. Several thousand such systems are planned to be manufactured for the needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

The agreement was signed during the meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, where allies discuss further military support for Ukraine and the development of joint defence projects.

It is worth noting that, in particular during the G7 summit, new mechanisms to strengthen Ukraine’s air defence were discussed, including increasing long-range capabilities and supporting weapons production directly in Ukraine and partner countries.
