Trump advised Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to watch his language after his statements on uranium enrichment, warning that otherwise the United States would take over part of the country, according to Fox News.

A Fox News host said he spoke with Trump for more than 20 minutes. The president shared his reaction to the talks in Switzerland and threats from the Iranian regime.

Guardian angel of strait

According to the journalist, Trump said the United States could take control of the Strait of Hormuz and charge fees for vessels passing through. The president described this as a guardian angel role over the Strait of Hormuz and the Middle East. He added that the United States would ultimately take 20% of the oil passing through the strait.

Trump also told the journalist that 19 million barrels of crude oil left the Gulf yesterday, thanks to a memorandum with Iran.

Response to Pezeshkian's statements

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian previously said that Tehran would not give up its right to enrich uranium.

According to the Fox News host, Trump responded that the Iranian leader better watch his language and get his act together, otherwise the United States would take over another part of the country.

Threats toward Iran

As relayed by the host, Trump said he spoke with Iranian officials the previous night and warned them that if they closed the strait, they would no longer have a country and would not even have time to return to their damn country.

Memorandum is not final deal

Trump stressed that the memorandum of understanding is only an extension of a ceasefire framework, not a final agreement.

He retains leverage and keeps various options open. According to the host, Trump said the memorandum includes a 60-day deadline, after which he can do whatever he wants.

As a reminder, Trump recently threatened to impose tariffs on passage through the Strait of Hormuz as payment for the guardian angel services.

US military command confirmed that shipping through the strait is increasing and that security is being maintained.

On June 17, the US president confirmed the signing of a memorandum with Iran providing for a 60-day negotiation period. The idea of joint transit tariffs with Iran had previously drawn criticism from Greece, the UN, and international organizations.
