Russia strikes energy facilities in Ukraine's Odesa region: Severe damage reported

At night, Russian troops again attacked the energy infrastructure of the Odesa region. Two energy facilities of the DTEK energy company were hit.
DTEK says the damage is significant. It will take time to fully restore the equipment and return it to working order.
DTEK emphasizes that in December alone, Russia significantly damaged 10 substations in the Odesa region. In total, Russia has attacked 25 energy facilities in the region since the beginning of the year.
Currently, energy workers are working around the clock to restore power to consumers as quickly as possible.
Russian attack on Odesa on December 31
On the night of December 31, Russian troops attacked Odesa and the region with strike drones.
Due to the Russian strikes, part of the city was left without electricity, water, and heat. According to the authorities, Russia again struck civilian and energy infrastructure. In one of the settlements in the region, warehouses belonging to a logistics company caught fire as a result of the Russian strike.
Russian drones also hit high-rise buildings in two districts of Odesa, causing fires in apartments. Later, the Odesa Regional Military Administration revealed photos of the aftermath of the Russian attack.
The number of victims rose to six. According to the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper, all of the injured are members of two families, including three children aged 7 months to 14 years. Five victims were hospitalized, one adult is in serious condition, and the rest are in moderate condition, including an infant with inhalation poisoning.
