In just the past week, Russia has launched more than 3,170 strike drones at Ukraine, over 1,300 guided aerial bombs, and 74 missiles of various types, most of which were ballistic missiles, according to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

According to the president, Russian forces continued massive strikes on Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure.

"There were many hits on residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure," Zelenskyy said.

He reported that 52 people were killed as a result of Russian attacks over the past week.

"My condolences to their relatives and loved ones," the head of state wrote.

Another 346 people were injured, including 22 children.

The president stressed that Ukraine needs more air defense systems, and support for air defense directly affects the preservation of lives.

According to Zelenskyy, the PURL program and additional contributions to anti-ballistic missiles remain important, as well as the development of joint European defense against ballistic threats.

"We must be self-sufficient in defense so that Russian aerial terror cannot threaten either Ukraine or any other country on the continent. I am grateful to all partners who support our defense with concrete actions," Zelenskyy concluded.

Recall that on the night of May 17, Russia launched 287 drones of various types at Ukraine, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and decoy drones.

According to the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian air defense shot down or suppressed 279 enemy targets.

That night, Russians also attacked Dnipro with drones. As a result of the strikes, fires broke out in the city and people were injured.

Russia also carried out another strike on Kharkiv, damaging cars, residential buildings, and street lighting.
