Polish Prime Minister responds to Russian strike on Lviv and offers assistance
Poland has responded to today's Russian strike on Lviv and offered assistance in restoring historical buildings damaged by the Russian attack, according to a post on Twitter (X) by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
"Lviv needs help! The target of the Russian attack was the city center," he wrote.
The Polish Prime Minister noted that a large number of the city's historical buildings were damaged during the Russian attack.
"Poland is ready to assist in their restoration," Tusk stated.
Russian strike on Lviv on September 4
In the early hours of September 4, Russian forces continued shelling Ukraine, launching dozens of drones and 13 missiles.
During the latest enemy attack, Lviv was hit. Schools and medical facilities in the city were damaged. It is known that seven people were killed in the shelling. Among them was almost the entire Bazylevych family, with only the head of the family surviving. This was reported by the city's mayor, Andrii Sadovyi. The man's 43-year-old wife, Yevhenia, and their three daughters, Yaryna (21 years old), Daryna (18 years old), and the youngest, 7-year-old Emilia, were killed.
It is also reported that 53 people were injured. Emergency rescue operations in the city have now been completed. It is reported that DSNS workers were able to rescue 12 people.
As a result of the Russian attack, the city suffered significant damage. Historical heritage sites were affected, buildings were destroyed, and educational and healthcare facilities were damaged.
During the Russian strike on Ukraine on September 4, Kryvyi Rih was also affected, with five people injured. It was reported that a hotel in the city was destroyed as a result of the enemy attack.
