Today, on January 7, Paris continues to host talks among Ukraine, the US, and Coalition of the Willing countries on security guarantees for Kyiv as part of a peace plan. Some actual results have already been achieved, according to Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

"We are continuing important talks in Paris aimed at achieving lasting peace and reliable security guarantees for our country. Not all information can be made public, but actual results have already been achieved, and the work is ongoing," Budanov said.

The head of the Presidential Office stressed that Ukraine's national interests will be protected.

Talks in Paris

On January 6, talks began in Paris involving Ukraine, the United States, and the Coalition of the Willing countries on security guarantees for Ukraine as part of a peace agreement.

Ukraine's allies are preparing to assume binding commitments in the event of future aggression by Russia. The relevant provisions are contained in the draft Paris agreement on security guarantees for Ukraine.

Further, the security documents are expected to be refined at the leadership level, with a focus on security guarantees and Ukraine's recovery. Then, consultations in the United States will be held with participation from a broader group of countries.

During the talks, representatives of Ukraine and the United States, within the framework of the Coalition of the Willing, have agreed on steps toward a ceasefire and its monitoring. However, the final advancement of these agreements depends on Russia's position, as it has not yet confirmed its readiness to comply.

Germany has agreed to help ensure a potential ceasefire in Ukraine, while stopping short of committing to deploying troops.

Unlike the United Kingdom and France, Germany considers participation in relevant mechanisms under the agreements reached at the Coalition of the Willing meeting.

Belgium is prepared to provide air and naval assets to help ensure Ukraine's security after the war ends.
