The city of Bakhmut in Donetsk region has been devastated by the Russian invasion. British intelligence has revealed the extent of the destruction.

Bakhmut has been the epicenter of fighting since August 2022. By the spring of 2023, the city fell under Russian control. It is known that the city is 80% destroyed due to intense battles.

Russian invaders strike Ukrainian defenders with poisonous munitions daily

Russian troops are actively using ammunition with poisonous substances against Ukrainian defenders daily, according to Dmytro Lykhovii, a spokesperson for the Tavria operational and strategic grouping of troops.

"Every day Russia uses ammunition with poisonous substances. Out of 536 munitions dropped from copters yesterday, 11 were with poisonous substances," says the spokesperson.

Russians set fire to ZNPP cooling towers, provocation possible

Residents of Nikopol noticed a fire in one of the cooling towers of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant on the occupied bank of the former Kakhovka reservoir. This could be a Russian provocation, according to Yevhen Yevtushenko, head of the Nikopol district military administration.

"Perhaps this is a provocation or an attempt to create panic in the settlements on the right bank of the former reservoir," Yevtushenko says.

He stressed that ZNPP is operating as normally as possible under the Russian occupation.
