2024 Olympics: August 11 highlights and final medal standings
The Paris Olympics has come to an end. More than a dozen sets of medals were awarded on the last competition day.

The Danish national handball team won the decisive match of the men's tournament. Nikolaj Jacobsen's team confidently defeated Germany (39:26). Mathias Gidsel was the most productive for the Danes (11 goals).
Wrestler Murazi Mchedlidze failed to add to the Ukrainian national team's treasury. He lost the bronze medal fight in freestyle wrestling. The Ukrainian was shortlisted for the medal because of his consolation bouts.
The United States won the women's basketball tournament. The Americans won a dramatic victory over the hosts. The French basketball players made a two-point shot at the siren but fell one point behind the United States.

- Hungarian athlete Michelle Gulyás won the modern pentathlon
- Kotaro Kiyooka from Japan won gold in freestyle wrestling (up to 65 kg)
- Bahraini freestyle wrestler Akhmed Tazhudinov won a gold medal in the category of up to 97 kg
- Chinese Li Wenwen triumphed in weightlifting (+81 kg)
- Elless Andrews from New Zealand won the cycling sprint
- Serbian national team wins men's water polo tournament
- American cyclist Jennifer Valente won gold in the omnium
- The Italian women's national team won the volleyball tournament
- Dutchman Harrie Lavreysen won the cycling race (keirin)
- Japanese wrestler Yuka Kagami won in the category up to 76 kg
The US national team won the team medal competition at the 2024 Olympic Games. American athletes won 40 gold, 44 silver, and 42 bronze medals. China was second in terms of the number of other medals, winning the same 40 golds. Japan rounded out the top three with 20 gold medals.
Ukraine finished the Olympics in 22nd place. Ukrainian athletes won 12 medals in total. Four female saber fencers (Olha Harlan, Yulia Bakastova, Olena Kravatska, and Alina Komashchuk), high jumper Yaroslava Mahuchikh, and boxer Oleksandr Khyzhniak won gold.
