Ukraine strikes three Russian oil refineries and a target in the Black Sea, Zelenskyy says

Ukrainian drones struck several oil refineries belonging to Russia, as well as storage and launch sites for attack drones, among other targets, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The head of state noted that the Ukrainian military continues to respond appropriately to Russian strikes on Ukraine.
“An oil refinery was hit in the Ryazan region. Our long-range capabilities were used against oil-processing facilities in the Perm region and Tatarstan, and against a site used to store and launch attack drones in the Kursk region,” the president said.
Zelenskyy added that an enemy target in the Black Sea was also struck.

The Ryazan oil refinery is one of the largest in the aggressor country. It can process approximately 17 million metric tons of crude oil annually. The plant produces automotive gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, and other petroleum products, including for the Russian military.
On September 6, Ukrainian drones struck the largest crude oil refining units at the Ryazan oil refinery in Russia, with a capacity of 8.5 million metric tons per year.
This refinery is regularly targeted by Ukrainian drones. In late July, the Ukrainian Armed Forces had already struck this facility.
At that time, fires broke out in Ryazan on the grounds of the oil refinery and the Wildberries marketplace warehouse. The region’s governor confirmed the fires at industrial facilities.
