Drone swarm hits Russia's Ryazan, Wildberries warehouse and oil refinery erupt in flames

On the morning of Wednesday, July 29, Russia's Ryazan came under a massive drone attack. The strikes sparked large fires at two separate facilities, according to Russian Telegram channels and OSINT communities.
According to local channels, an air raid alert was declared in Ryazan at 4:30 a.m. Shortly afterward, drones were repeatedly spotted over the city.
Starting at around 5:20 a.m., social media channels were flooded with videos showing drones flying overhead, the sound of explosions, and smoke rising above Ryazan.
A short time later, OSINT channels reported that the targets were a Wildberries sorting facility and a local oil refinery.

As for the refinery, it is still unclear which specific facility was hit. However, the ASTRA channel provided additional details about the Wildberries site, saying that a warehouse on the territory of the Ryazansky Industrial Park was on fire.

Shortly before 6:00 a.m., the company officially announced that access to the facility had been restricted.
"Access to the Ryazan: Tyushevskaya sorting center is temporarily restricted. Please do not come to the warehouse for now. We will provide additional information once operations resume," the statement said.
Meanwhile, regional governor Pavel Malkov confirmed after the attack that fires had broken out at industrial sites in the city. According to his version, the fires were caused by the falling debris.

What is important to know
Today's strike is far from the first successful Ukrainian drone attack on Wildberries in recent weeks.
One of the reasons for these attacks is that the company sells and stores military-related goods in its warehouses, including helmets, body armor, fiber-optic cable for drones, and more.
The company had even created a dedicated section called "Everything for the SVO" (Russia's official name for the war), which it recently decided to remove from both its website and mobile app.
