Meloni denies reports of halted US arms supplies to Ukraine

The United States has not halted weapons deliveries to Ukraine as reported by some media. Washington has reviewed its supply list, but this does not mean a complete suspension of military aid to Kyiv. This was stated by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, according to the Italian news agency Ansa.
"The United States has not stopped supplying weapons and supporting Ukraine. They have reviewed the decision on delivering specific components. This is an important fact, but it is very different from a complete halt in supplies," Meloni said during a speech at the forum in Masseria.
She added that she had spoken with US President Donald Trump regarding arms deliveries to Ukraine. Meloni expressed hope for a "positive development on this issue."
So, was it suspended or not?
On the evening of July 1, several media outlets reported that the United States had partially suspended arms deliveries to Ukraine. The White House later confirmed this information, stating that the decision was based on "America's interests first." In Russia, the news about a potential halt in weapons supply sparked visible enthusiasm.
However, during the night of July 4, Donald Trump stated that the United States continues to supply weapons to Ukraine. It later emerged that the suspension of arms deliveries was an unauthorized initiative by US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.
On July 4, Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed the supply of air defense systems to Ukraine. According to media reports, Trump allegedly agreed to assist Ukraine on this issue.
