The US continues to supply weapons to Ukraine, but at the same time must consider its stockpiles, states US President Donald Trump.

In response to a journalist's question about why the supply of weapons to Ukraine had been halted, Trump replied: "We haven't. We're giving weapons, and we've given many weapons. We're working with them, trying to help them, but we haven't."

At the same time, Trump criticized the current administration of former President Joe Biden, accusing it of excessively depleting US weapon stockpiles.

“Biden emptied out our whole country, giving them weapons, and we have to make sure that we have enough for ourselves,” he added.

US halts arms deliveries to Ukraine

On the evening of July 1, several Western media outlets reported a partial suspension of US weapons deliveries to Ukraine. This information was later confirmed by the White House, which stated that, at this stage, US national interests remain the priority.

According to media reports, the suspension concerns artillery shells, Stinger man-portable air-defense systems, as well as Patriot and Hellfire missiles. The Wall Street Journal wrote that some of this weaponry is already being stored at warehouses in Poland.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that working-level negotiations with the American side are ongoing to clarify all the circumstances. Meanwhile, in Russia, news of a potential halt in arms supplies sparked active celebration.
