Vladimir Putin said at a press conference that Russian forces are "advancing every single day" and that the so-called special military operation is approaching its end.
However, he was unable to name any specific timeline, saying it would be "reckless" to do so.
Andriy Kovalenko responded directly to the statement of the Russian leader, saying, "They are advancing and turning into corpses — tens of thousands of corpses per month — more than they manage to recruit into this conveyor belt of madness and death."
According to Kovalenko, Putin is "a madman who believes fabricated reports from Valery Gerasimov."
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that the pace of Russia’s offensive in 2026 has sharply slowed — from 285 square kilometers of captured territory in 2025 to 104 square kilometers.
At the same time, military command continues to report "successes" to Putin. According to Oleksandr Syrskyi, the casualty ratio between the Russian and Ukrainian armies is approximately 3.5 to 1 in Ukraine’s favor.
Meanwhile, Russia’s economy contracted by 0.3% in the first quarter of 2026 despite government forecasts of growth. The country’s GDP fell by 1.8% in January–February, prompting Putin to convene an emergency meeting with economists.
