The Russian army is suffering significantly heavier losses on the battlefield than Ukraine’s Defense Forces, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, said.

According to the general, the ratio of total losses between the Russian and Ukrainian armies is approximately 3.5 to 1 in Ukraine’s favor.

"The enemy’s losses are several times higher. Total battlefield losses are 3.5 times greater," Syrskyi said.

At the same time, according to him, the gap in the number of killed soldiers is even larger.

"In terms of those killed, depending on the day, the ratio reaches seven or even nine times. That is the ratio of fatalities," the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces emphasized.

Russian losses

Earlier, Deputy Head of the Office of the President, Brigadier General Pavlo Palisa, stated that Russian losses in Donbas have tripled, while territorial gains remain minimal.

According to him, despite the enemy’s ambitious plans for 2026, Russia currently lacks sufficient forces to implement them.

In addition, the consequences of Russia’s heavy losses in the war against Ukraine are becoming increasingly visible inside the country. According to Russian media reports, civilian hospitals and maternity wards in Russia are being widely converted into military hospitals due to the large number of wounded soldiers.

At the same time, Russian regions are reporting shortages of doctors, a lack of hospital beds, and growing problems with access to medical care for civilian patients.
