Chinese scientists have developed the TPG1000Cs microwave weapon, capable of disabling Starlink satellites and other objects in low Earth orbit, according to the South China Morning Post.

The system was developed by the Northwest Institute of Nuclear Technology in Xian, Shaanxi province. It has a power of 20 gigawatts and can generate pulses for a record-breaking one minute.

Previously, similar systems could operate continuously for no more than three seconds, while the TPG1000Cs can emit up to 3,000 high-energy pulses in a single session. The ground-based system can disrupt or damage satellites in low Earth orbit, including Starlink satellites.

The system is relatively compact, measuring 4 meters long and weighing 5 tons, allowing it to be mounted on trucks, military ships, aircraft, and even satellites.

Experts note that if China deploys the TPG1000Cs directly in space, its invisible strikes would become even deadlier and harder to detect.

Recently, China publicly revealed the PL-17 air-to-air missile, designed to engage enemy aircraft at extremely long ranges. Estimates suggest its range could reach approximately 400 kilometers, with a maximum speed exceeding 4,900 km/h.

RBC-Ukraine previously reported that, according to Pentagon data, China is rapidly modernizing its armed forces and expanding its nuclear arsenal. US analysts estimate that by 2030, China could possess at least 1,000 nuclear warheads.
