Trump: Zelenskyy and Putin must end 'this stupid war'

The war between Russia and Ukraine must ultimately come to an end. However, tensions between the two countries’ leaders could be one of the reasons the conflict is continuing, US President Donald Trump said.
Trump on the war
The US president said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian leader Vladimir Putin "ought to stop this stupid war."
Trump recalled that he had ended eight wars.
"Eight. Some of them would be thought to be much tougher to stop," he said, adding that he had managed to bring them to an end.
However, in his view, "tremendous animosity" between the two leaders is standing in the way of ending the war between Russia and Ukraine.
Trump also said that the United States wants to have "good relations with Russia, Ukraine, with everybody," arguing that this is good for business.
"Russia's got great land, very valuable land," he added.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that Trump explained Washington’s decision to invite Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov to the G20 meeting despite Russia’s war against Ukraine. According to the US president, Washington seeks to maintain relations with all countries.
It was also reported that Trump was not concerned about the threat of a Russian attack on NATO countries.
In addition, Trump said that the CIA director’s visit to Russia was semi-routine in nature. According to him, the trip was not related to speculation about possible Kremlin actions against NATO countries.
