Trump says he is not concerned about possible Russian attack on NATO

The US president has once again shared his view on Russia’s preparations for a possible attack on NATO countries. He says he does not see it as a problem, Axios reports.
Trump does not share NATO’s concerns
The president said he is not concerned about Russia attacking NATO countries. He made the remarks in response to allies’ concerns following CIA Director John Ratcliffe’s secret visit to Moscow.
European leaders have publicly warned that Moscow could test NATO’s resolve, including the United States’ commitment to Article 5, the alliance’s collective-defense clause, through a limited attack or other military provocations.
NATO officials therefore speculated that Ratcliffe had traveled to Russia to warn Moscow against taking such steps.
However, Trump denied that this was the message, saying that the CIA director had not issued any such warning.
"I am not concerned ... at all. There is no problem," Trump said when asked about a possible Russian provocation against NATO countries.
Trump on Putin
Later, during remarks at the White House, Trump once again said that Russia is not planning any aggression against the alliance.
"They are not going to attack NATO territory," he said.
It was reported that Trump described the CIA director’s visit to Russia as "semi-routine." According to him, the trip was not related to speculation about possible Kremlin actions against NATO countries.
