In recent days, Russian forces at the front have faced serious problems due to the blocking of Starlink terminals — command and control have been complicated and assault operations have been partially halted, said Serhii Beskrestnov, adviser to the head of the Defense Ministry on technological issues.
"The enemy does not just have problems at the front — the enemy has a catastrophe. All troop command and control has collapsed. Assault operations have been halted in many areas," Beskrestnov said.
According to him, problems in the Ukrainian forces arose only in those units that did not promptly submit lists for private Starlink terminals, but the registration process is ongoing.
What preceded this
On January 23, that Russian forces were increasingly using drones equipped with Starlink in an attempt to bypass Ukraine's air defense system.
Soon after, the Ministry of Digital Transformation reported that Ukraine is introducing a white list regime.
The initiative will be implemented by the Defense Ministry in cooperation with SpaceX. For security reasons, approved terminals will operate in stationary mode and with speed restrictions while moving.
Later, it was reported that Ukrainian military units must promptly verify the Starlink terminals used for defense purposes so that they continue operating after the blocking.
