Massive attack on Ukraine
On May 13–14, the aggressor state carried out a large-scale combined strike on Ukraine using drones and various types of missiles. In total, the enemy used 1,567 drones and 56 missiles. The interception rate was 94% for drones and 73% for missiles.
On the night of the latest attack, Russia launched 56 missiles and 675 drones at Ukraine. Destruction was recorded in Kyiv and the Kyiv region, as well as in several other regions. In the capital, at least 20 people are still reported missing.
The Ukrainian Air Force stated that this was one of the largest attacks since the start of the full-scale invasion, noting that Russia used its entire available arsenal of air attack weapons.
The International Atomic Energy Agency reported that during the massive Russian strike on May 13–14, more than 160 drones were detected over South Ukraine, Rivne, and Chornobyl nuclear power plants.
The Russian Ministry of Defense issued a cynical justification for the prolonged combined attack on Ukraine, claiming it was a so-called "retaliation attack."
