Russia massively strikes Ukraine's Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, and Kremenchuk: Aftermath revealed

Russia launched a protracted combined attack on Ukraine, deploying strategic aircraft, ballistic missiles, and hundreds of drones. The main strike hit Kyiv, where part of a high-rise building collapsed, leaving one person dead and dozens injured.
RBC-Ukraine reports on the details and consequences of the Russian attack on Kyiv.
Key points:
- Kyiv. In the Darnytskyi district, the entrance to a nine-story building has been destroyed (people are trapped under the rubble), and there is a fire at a gas station; a total of 40 people have been injured and 2 killed.
- Kyiv region. 7 wounded (including a 3-year-old child), destruction in 6 districts: high-rises, private homes, and warehouses damaged.
- Poltava region. Russia struck energy infrastructure in Kremenchuk; an industrial facility, warehouses, and residential areas were damaged. 1,000 residents without gas.
- Kharkiv. 7 houses and 2 dormitories were damaged, and at least 15 people were injured.
- Odesa region. Infrastructure hit, including port facilities in Chornomorsk, two people injured.
- Cherkasy region. Air defense forces destroyed 4 missiles and 32 drones.
- Chernihiv region. An energy facility was attacked; over 31,000 customers are without power.
What Russians attacked with
The Russian attack began yesterday with waves of Shahed drones, continuing throughout the night of May 13–14, and concluded at dawn with launches of ballistic missiles, Kinzhal missiles, and cruise missiles.
In total, starting at 6 p.m. on May 13, immediately following a massive drone strike throughout the day (nearly 800 drones), Russia continued the attack, deploying 56 missiles and 675 drones. Ukrainian air defense shot down or neutralized 41 Russian missiles and 652 drones of various types.

In total, since the start of yesterday, the Russians have struck Ukraine with over 1,560 drones.
Kyiv suffered the most
Kyiv bore the brunt of the Russian attack. There is damage at 20 locations in the city. These include residential buildings, a school, a veterinary clinic, and other purely civilian infrastructure.

In the Darnytskyi district, parts of a high-rise building collapsed. An entire stairwell was destroyed, and 18 apartments were devastated. People may be trapped under the rubble.
Debris removal is underway at the site. A fire broke out at a gas station as a result of the strike, and small commercial structures were burning. A shopping center located next to the 9-story building was also partially destroyed.
27 people were rescued. Rescuers are also extinguishing five cars in the courtyard of a residential building at another address.

Consequences in other districts:
- Obolonskyi. Russia struck a 25-story unfinished building and an apartment on the 12th floor, causing damage to a business center, a parking lot, and non-residential buildings
- Dniprovskyi. Russia struck a private residential building; garages and cars caught fire
- Holosiivskyi. Russian drone debris fell on a business center building
- Shevchenkivskyi. Russia struck a non-residential building
- Solomianskyi. Russian drone debris fell on the grounds of non-residential buildings.

Information on casualties varies. Deputy Prime Minister for Recovery and Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksii Kuleba reported over 30 casualties in Kyiv and 2 fatalities.
However, local authorities later clarified that there were 40 casualties, including a one-month-old infant who was poisoned by carbon monoxide.
In addition to the capital, the Kyiv, Kharkiv, Poltava, Cherkasy, Zaporizhzhia, and Odesa regions were targeted.
Kyiv region
Russia terrorized the Kyiv region throughout the night. A total of 7 people were injured across the region, with damage reported in 6 districts. Firefighting operations are ongoing on the ground.
- Boryspil district. 5 people were injured (including a 3-year-old child); 2 people were hospitalized with severe injuries. A high-rise building, a private home, a business, and 6 cars were damaged.
- Fastiv district. 2 women sustained injuries and were in shock (first aid was provided on-site). A high-rise building was damaged.
- Bucha district. A fire at a warehouse and two vehicles caught fire.
- Brovary district. 3 private homes, a business, and a vehicle were damaged.
- Obukhiv district. 3 private homes were damaged.
- Bila Tserkva district. A private residential home was damaged.
Poltava region
Overnight, Russia launched a combined strike on the energy infrastructure in the Kremenchuk district.
As a result of the Russian attack, industrial equipment at a manufacturing plant, as well as vehicles and warehouse facilities at a trucking company, were damaged. Destruction and damage to private homes were also reported at two locations.
About 1,000 customers in several settlements were left without a gas supply.
Cherkasy region
It was a difficult night for the Cherkasy region as well. Ukrainian air defense forces and assets neutralized 4 Russian missiles and 32 drones over the region.
Odesa region
Russia struck the port infrastructure and residential buildings in Chornomorsk.
As a result of two waves of Russian attacks, equipment, property, and freight transport were damaged. The resulting fires have been extinguished.
Consequences of the Russian attack
Two people were injured. Relevant services are working at the scene.
Russia also struck critical infrastructure and Ukrainian Railways facilities.
Rescue workers, medics, and specialized emergency services have been working at the impact sites from the very first moments.
Kharkiv
Russian drones have been attacking Kharkiv since last night. This morning, the Russians struck the Shevchenkivskyi and Saltivskyi districts with drones. In the latter, 7 residential buildings and 2 dormitories were damaged.

At least 15 people are known to have been injured.
Chernihiv region
Russian troops attacked an energy facility in the Chernihiv district. As a result, over 31,000 residents are without power.
Chernihivoblenergo energy company reports that utility workers will be able to begin emergency repair work once the security situation improves.
Widespread power outages
Due to the Russian attack, power outages are reported in 11 regions and Kyiv as of this morning, according to Ukrenergo.
In particular, power outages have been reported in the Poltava, Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Lviv, Lutsk, Khmelnytskyi, Chernihiv, and Kyiv regions, as well as in Kyiv city.
Repairs will begin as soon as the security situation allows, the operator clarifies.
