Zelenskyy names one of key tasks for defense industry

Ukraine is increasing the production of weapons, and long-range drones are one of the key tasks for the defense-industrial complex, says the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"Today, I held a meeting with the Ministry of Strategy and Industry. Oleksandr Kamyshin reported on the results of work on the production of drones and ammunition," said the president.
According to the president, production is increasing. New positions are also being added, the development of new weapons is ongoing.
"The domestic production of drones, shells, and equipment is literally the production of our freedom, the freedom of Ukrainians and Ukraine. Because in such conditions, in conditions of a full-scale war, it is force that is the basis of freedom," the president said.
Zelenskyy thanked all employees of the defense-industrial complex providing Ukrainian strength. Separately, the minister reported to him about the production of long-range drones, which is one of the key tasks for the defense industry.
Weapons production in Ukraine
As President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted earlier, Ukraine must become so strong and effective for Russia to know that there will be an answer to every blow it makes. For this, it is necessary to strengthen the production of domestic weapons.
Ukraine already produces long-range weapons. For example, specialists managed to develop a new version of long-range Neptune missiles. In particular, it has recently become known about the start of serial production of drones, which are Iranian Shahed analogs.
As Oleksandr Kamyshin, the head of the Ministry of Strategy and Industry, said, there has been a significant increase in the ammunition production: by 42 times in mines and almost three times in artillery shells.
