Zelenskyy emphasizes Ukraine's clear task: Domestic weapons key to achievement

Ukraine must become so strong and effective that Russia knows there will be a response to every strike. This task can be achieved with a sufficient amount of domestic weaponry, states President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"The task for Ukraine is crystal clear: we must make our country so strong and effective that Russia feels there will be a response to every one of its strikes. Achieving this task is only possible with sufficient domestic weaponry production," states the President.
He notes that around 300,000 employees are currently engaged in Ukraine's defense complex.
"I'm grateful to everyone—everyone who is creating crucial productions, everyone who is restoring enterprises, everyone who works almost round the clock. Thanks to every family of our homeland defense workers—for supporting, for all of you helping our country fight for life and for the entire people of Ukraine!" emphasizes Zelenskyy.
Private companies in the defense complex
The head of state highlights that the share of private companies in the defense complex is constantly increasing. And already, four out of five companies in the defense complex are private enterprises.
"We should enhance the utilization of this power, one of the main forces of human nature—entrepreneurship. It will be right for state-owned companies to compete on equal terms with private enterprises for the sake of the quality and speed of our Ukrainian production. We are all on one team. We all need the same thing—victory," the President underscores.
According to Zelenskyy, the state will continue to simplify bureaucratic procedures— from importing components to the process of commissioning. The government is working on ensuring funding for long-term contracts.
Defense complex to become part of the international defense system
The President notes that Ukraine's defense complex will become part of the international defense system, and moreover, there are already agreements with several leading countries and companies in the world for joint production.
"There will be more such agreements, more integration of our capabilities and global, our productions and the productions of leading countries," the head of state emphasizes.
Weapon production in Ukraine
Ukraine already produces long-range weapons. In particular, domestic specialists have successfully developed a new version of long-range missiles, the Neptune, used for strikes on ground targets.
Additionally, Ukraine recently announced the commencement of serial production of drones, which are a kind of equivalent to Iranian combat unmanned aerial vehicles Shahed but with better characteristics.
Recently, Zelenskyy highlighted that Ukraine should manufacture everything necessary to defend against Russian aggression.
According to the President, the next year should be productive in this direction.
