Ukraine is responding to Russian strikes and has achieved significant success in this regard. Ukrainian weapons are demonstrating tangible results, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at a meeting with journalists on October 8.

"As for our strikes deep into Russia, that is, our responses to Russian strikes, there is a positive outcome. The Palianytsia has already begun to strike Russian military depots in dozens of cases," the President said.

He emphasized that this is a positive development, that there have been various moments, and that we are no longer talking about isolated cases.

In particular, the second positive development is the Ukrainian Ruta missile drone, which struck a naval tower at a distance of more than 250 kilometers.

"The greatest success was Liutyi, Fire Point, which was used en masse, with up to 300 units, and this is a serious operation. We understand that Ust-Luga and Primorsk are within reach. What happened is, in my opinion, a great success," Zelenskyy said.

The head of state also said that, according to his data, Russia's gasoline shortage is up to 20% of its needs. In particular, there are different estimates - from 13 to 20%, but it has been confirmed that the shortage is significant. According to the President, in his opinion, the shortage is up to 20%.

In addition, Zelenskyy shared the successes of the last week. He did not specify the number, but said that Ukrainian Neptune and Flamingo weapons were used.

"You can analyze the results yourself. We are not saying that these weapons were used on a massive scale. We are simply saying that they were used, and we are seeing the first tangible results of our weapons," the head of state added.

Ukraine's responses will cost Russia dearly

On Wednesday, October 8, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy listened to a report from Security Service of Ukraine head Vasyl Maliuk. Following the meeting, the head of state approved asymmetric responses to Russia's war.

"Vasyl Maliuk, head of the Security Service of Ukraine, gave a good report today. As for our operations, I agreed with the Service on some plans, our asymmetric responses to the Russian war," Zelenskyy said.

A little over a week ago, the President issued a warning to Russia. He said that Russia must understand that if it threatens blackouts in Kyiv, it will get blackouts in Moscow. Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine will not be weak and will respond to Russian attacks on its energy sector.

In addition, he said recently that Ukraine had successfully used Neptune missiles and plans to regularly use its own ballistic missiles in the future.

According to Russian media reports, Ukrainian drones have dealt a historic blow to Russia's oil industry. In particular, Ukrainian strikes paralyzed 38% of oil refineries, creating an unprecedented crisis in the fuel market.

Bloomberg also wrote that over the past four weeks, Russian oil shipments by sea have been at their highest level in 16 months. This was due to Ukraine's successful attacks on Russian oil refineries.
