Leader Xi Jinping, at a meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Beijing, stated that equal participation of all parties must be ensured in negotiations on peace in Ukraine. In this way, he hinted at the need to involve Europe in the peace process, according to a communiqué on the results of the talks between the leaders of China and Germany, the press service of China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

During an exchange of views on Russia's war against Ukraine, Xi Jinping expressed China's principled position that the key to finding a solution lies in consistent dialogue and negotiations.
"It is important to ensure equal participation of all parties in the negotiation process and lay a solid foundation for peace, take into account the legitimate concerns of all parties, strengthen the will for peace, and create conditions for building a durable architecture of shared security," the Chinese leader said.
China's position regarding the mandatory participation of Europeans in negotiations on peace in Ukraine contradicts Russia's approach, which effectively insists on reaching agreements with the United States without taking into account the positions of Europeans and Ukrainians.
China may stop the war in Ukraine
Earlier, US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker stated that China plays a key role in supporting Russian aggression against Ukraine and, in his opinion, Beijing could influence the end of the war with one phone call to Moscow.
At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that China is currently not demonstrating interest in ending Russia's war against Ukraine.
China itself recently stated that it supports all efforts aimed at a peaceful settlement of the war in Ukraine and advocates for continued dialogue between the parties.
