The White House released a photo from the meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump. The caption under the photo reads, "We're in it to save thousands of lives."

The account posted a photo of Trump and Zelenskyy at the entrance to the White House, styled in black and white.

"We're not losing people, we're not spending money, we're getting paid for the ammunition and missiles... we've made a very good deal with NATO... that's not what we're in this for. We're in it to save thousands of lives...," the caption under the photo reads.

Zelenskyy and Trump meeting: What is known

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Washington on October 16 and managed to hold a series of meetings before his visit to the White House. The meeting at the White House began in a very friendly atmosphere: Trump joked a lot and complimented Zelenskyy’s suit.

It is known that Zelenskyy offered his American counterpart, Donald Trump, "thousands of drones" in exchange for Tomahawk missiles. Trump responded that the US is very interested in Ukrainian drones — but the White House hopes to end the war without supplying Tomahawks to Ukraine.

Trump also expressed confidence in the possibility of quickly ending the war in Ukraine if flexible action is taken, emphasizing the role of the United States in saving lives. According to him, this will be decided at the Budapest meeting, and Zelenskyy will be in contact.
