US President Donald Trump expressed confidence that the war in Ukraine could be ended quickly if approached flexibly and emphasized the role of the United States in saving lives.

During the Washington meeting, Trump was asked whether he expects help from China in ending the war in Ukraine and whether Beijing should pressure Russia. He replied that the conflict could be resolved fairly quickly—if flexibility is applied in actions.

"I'd love to see it ended. I mean, I think we have a chance of ending the war quickly if flexibility is shown," he said.

According to Trump, the United States does not suffer human losses and practically does not spend its own money, as partners cover the costs of ammunition and weapons.

"We're not losing people. We're not spending money. We're getting paid for the ammunition and missiles and everything else that we're sending to the European Union and to NATO," Trump explained.

He also recalled the trade and defense agreements reached with the European Union and NATO. In his view, these steps lay the groundwork for ending the war.

"We just made a very fair trade deal with the European Union. And we made a very good deal with NATO, too. You know, they pay for all of this. That's not what we're in this for. We're in it to save thousands of lives every week. I think we have a very good chance of bringing this war to a conclusion," Trump emphasized.

It is worth noting that Trump recently stated that the United States itself does not send any weapons to Ukraine. They send them to NATO, and NATO pays for them.
