Zelenskyy offers Trump 'thousands of drones' in exchange for Tomahawks

Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposed to his American counterpart, Donald Trump, "thousands of drones" in exchange for Tomahawk missiles, according to the broadcast of the meeting between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine could provide the United States with "thousands of drones" if Washington allows it to use Tomahawk missiles.
"We can work together, we can strengthen American production. We have a great proposition with our drones," the Ukrainian president said.
Trump responded affirmatively when asked whether such a deal would interest him.
"We are. We have a lot of drones right now. We build our own drones, but we also buy drones from others. And they (Ukraine - ed.) make very good drones," the US president emphasized.
Tomahawks for Ukraine
On October 16, Donald Trump made an ambiguous statement regarding long-range Tomahawk missiles. He said that the United States has many of these missiles, but they are needed by the country itself.
According to Yuriy Ushakov, an adviser to Putin, the Russian leader claimed that Tomahawks "will not change the situation on the front," but "will damage relations between Russia and the US."
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that the US Department of Defense had developed a plan to sell or transfer long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine in the event that Donald Trump gives the "green light."
Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy brought up the topic of Tomahawks twice in a row during phone conversations with Donald Trump. Following the talks, Zelenskyy noted that Trump has not yet made a final decision on the transfer of the missiles.
According to Stacie Pettyjohn, Director of the Defense Program at the Center for a New American Security think tank, the US could transfer only 20 to 50 such missiles to Ukraine, and they are unlikely to change the dynamics of the war.
