Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will be in contact during US President Donald Trump’s meeting with Vladimir Putin in Budapest, states US President Donald Trump, according to the live broadcast of the meeting in Washington.

"Most likely it's going to be a double meeting. But we will have the President Zelenskyy in touch," he said.

Trump also stated that he will discuss with Zelenskyy his phone conversation with Putin yesterday, during which they agreed on a meeting in Budapest.

After a two-hour discussion with Putin, Trump announced that they will meet in Budapest in the coming weeks, although no exact date has been set yet.

Putin’s office also confirmed the possibility of a summit with the US president in Budapest.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, for his part, said that Hungary is ready for the summit.

Meanwhile, European leaders are seeking ways to influence Trump ahead of the meeting with Putin, fearing that the US president’s stance could undermine Western unity in supporting Ukraine.

On October 17, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with his American counterpart, Donald Trump, at the White House.

Trump stated that, through cooperation with Ukraine, he hopes to persuade Russian President Putin to end the war.
