Kremlin makes statement on possible Trump-Putin summit

People close to Russian leader Vladimir Putin have confirmed the possibility of holding a summit with US President Donald Trump in Budapest, Hungary, according to a post by Putin's special envoy Kirill Dmitriev.
"White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirms a 'good and productive' call between President Putin and President Trump. Next Summit is soon," he wrote.
Dmitriev did not go into details or specify a realistic timeframe for when the summit might happen.
On the evening of October 16, US President Donald Trump announced that he had held a phone call with Russian leader Vladimir Putin. He described the conversation as "productive" and announced plans for a new meeting, which may take place in Budapest.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, whose government is considered friendly to Russia, quickly reacted to the news. Orbán said that the upcoming meeting between Trump and Putin in Budapest was "great news for the peace-loving people of the world."
According to the White House, commenting on the possible Budapest summit, Trump still believes he can arrange a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the Russian President.
