Trump praises Zelenskyy: He is very strong leader

During a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy, US President Donald Trump called him "a very strong leader".
"It's an honor to be with a very strong leader, a man who has been through a lot and a man who I've gotten to know very well. And we've gotten along really very well," Trump stated.
The meeting between the US and Ukrainian presidents started with a half-hour delay. No special statements were made to the press outside the White House.
What is known about the talks
Topics discussed include support for Ukraine, weapons, negotiations with Russia, and one of the main subjects highlighted beforehand—the potential transfer of long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine.
During the meeting with Zelenskyy, the US President plans to discuss the possibility of high-level talks between Kyiv and Moscow, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said.
According to her, Trump and Putin have discussed a potential meeting in Budapest, and the US President will raise this issue during talks with Zelenskyy.
Trump-Zelenskyy meeting
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Washington on October 16.
He has already met with representatives of the American defense company Lockheed Martin. The discussions focused on strengthening Ukraine's air defense and the potential supply of F-16 fighter jets and missiles for them.
According to Andriy Yermak, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, the main topic will be expanding the list of weapons the US is ready to provide to Ukraine, including long-range Tomahawk missiles.
