US Vice President JD Vance plans to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the sidelines of the annual Munich Security Conference. The event will begin on February 14 and run through February 16, according to CBS News.

Zelenskyy will lead the Ukrainian delegation at the international event, while Vance is also scheduled to participate in the conference.

Notably, information about the planned meeting between Zelenskyy and Vance was previously reported by other US media outlets, including The New York Post.

Ukraine's expectations at the Munich Conference

Recently, the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, who will also participate in the Munich Conference, told the Associated Press that the Ukrainian delegation would present the country's position on ending the war and its views on how to achieve lasting and sustainable peace.

Yermak also mentioned that Ukraine hopes to discuss potential security guarantees to prevent future aggression from Russia during the Munich meeting.

Last week, the Ukrainian delegation held meetings at the US Department of State with the US Special Representative for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg.

On February 7, Andriy Yermak, Head of the President's Office, said that Kellogg’s visit to Ukraine is expected in February. Earlier, RBK-Ukraine reported that he could arrive in Ukraine on February 20.

Additionally, Kellogg will also attend Munich along with Vice President Vance. However, the US Special Representative for Ukraine and Russia previously stated that he would not be presenting Trump's so-called peace plan at the conference.

RBC-Ukraine previously provided a detailed report on the upcoming Munich Security Conference 2025 and the participants expected at the event.

Issue of Trump's meeting with Zelenskyy

As previously reported, US President Donald Trump told reporters on Friday in the Oval Office that he could meet with his Ukrainian counterpart in Washington in the coming days. The American leader also mentioned that he is likely to speak with Russian President Vladimir Putin as part of efforts to end Russia's war against Ukraine.

Currently, there is no official information on when exactly the meeting between Trump and Zelenskyy might take place.

Trump's conversation with Putin and the 'price' of the security guarantees agreement for Ukraine

In an interview published last night by the American tabloid The New York Post, US President Donald Trump revealed that he had already spoken with Vladimir Putin by phone. The American leader also stated that he has a specific plan to end the Russia-Ukraine war.

Furthermore, Trump mentioned that he intends to strike a $500 million deal with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy concerning access to rare earth minerals and gas in Ukraine, in exchange for security guarantees in any potential peace settlement.

Trump also urged National Security Advisor Mike Waltz to start meetings.

On February 9, the White House neither confirmed nor denied Trump's claim of a conversation with Putin.
